Saturday Football

Four bets for Saturday. I've spent a while going through the card and I've come up with four matches that represent what I think is a chance of a decent profit.

The first is Spurs to beat Man United. Spurs are a much improved outfit that seem to play well against United every year. Every year though, United come back strong and get a result. This time, though, United dont have Ronaldo to save them, and Lennon, Defoe et al will have no qualms about playing Rooney's lot. I make this pretty much even stevens, so Spurs at 3.35 has to be taken. I couldnt put anyone off the idea of backing Spurs to win by a couple either. You can back Spurs to win both halves at 12.5, Spurs to be winning at half time and at full time at 6.6 or correct scores at big prices like 3-1 Spurs at 34.0. Im going to invest £25 on Spurs to win at 3.35, and £10 on ht/ft at 6.6.

The second bet is Arsenal to win at Man City. Man City have improved out of all recognition, although they havent really been tested yet. Players like Robinho (if fit) certainly should enjoy the big matches like tomorrow's game, and Toure and Adebayor will both been straining at the leash to get one over on their old teammates. Tevez is out for City, and Arshavin for Arsenal, but in Fabregas and Rosicky, Arsenal are welcoming two world class midfielders back into the side. One problem City will have is that they'll feel the need to go at Arsenal, and to almost play them at their own game. This could be the worst thing they could possibly do, and I fancy Arsenal to pick them off, and learn from their mistakes against United by being ruthless. £20 on Arsenal to win at 2.58

The third bet is a game in the Championship, between Sheff Weds and Forest. Both sides have got pace and strength up front. They both like to play attacking football, and they've both scored goals this season. In Johnson and Blackstock, both sides have strikers in form, so there should be goals tomorrow. In six matches this season, both teams have been unders (-2.5 goals) twice and overs four times, yet the price for overs in this is 2.08. That's a good price for this bet, so £30 on over 2.5 goals @ 2.08

Last but not least, I move down to League 2, and look at Rochdale v Torquay. Rochdale have beaten Aldershot and Bury at home, but that's about all they've done. Torquay have already won twice on their travels this season and 4.8 is a good price to take a chance on them again. £20 on Torquay at 4.8
