Tim and Steve

£20 to spend;

We've had 15 x £0 returns on the trot, punctuated by Bob's sole win. But, look on the bright side, it's the Cheltenham Festival! The greatest sporting event of this, or any, year. Steve and I will be providing you with a bet each day, which means the bets for this week wont be up on the site by Friday night and will be in place by Monday. Our advice is to totally avoid our bets, if the rest of the year is anything to go by. In case you're wondering, the smaller pictures are, from (from l-r) Binocular, Master Minded, Kauto Star, Denman and Kasbah Bliss.

Tuesday (Tim);
Golden Silver to be placed in the Irish Independent Arkle, 14:05. £10 @ 5.8 losing bet

Wedensday (Steve); Well Chief to be placed in the QM Champion Chase, 15:20. £10 @ 3.25 wins £31.42

Friday (Tim); Amicelli to be placed (first 3) in the Foxhunter's Chase; 16:00. £10 @ 4.5 losing bet

Friday (Steve); Kauto Star to win Gold Cup; 15:20. £10 @ 3.15 wins £30.47

Well done Stevo - off the mark in classic style. A classic Cheltenham festival, with some superb performances and some dud favourites. I was on more of the latter than the former. But a return from Steve's two picks of £61.89, meaning a profit for the week of £21.89, puts the Betting Club balance at £144.33. This means that there is £24 to bet with this week.

Great stuff. This is what the betting club is all about.

Not for one minute to I imagine you didn't rig the betting cycle to come round to your turn at Cheltenham Tim...

Always looking for conspiracies Andy. What's harder to believe, that I worked out the rota 7 months in advance to ensure I got Cheltenham, or that it just happened to be my week on the week the festival comes around? Actually, when I put it like that...

Last year was my first ever losing festival and I'm keen to put that right. Steve made a huge profit last year, clearing about £7-800 on the first day alone, so we'll see what we can come up with between us. I'm seriously exceited already though...

How's this going to work if you win during the week? Do you get to bet your winnings or do you just have £20 in total? I have no preference by the way, just asking.

Just £20. We are going to do one £10 bet each day.
