It was a case of hitting the post this weekend. Scott got us off to a great start with his lumpy bet on Becky 'the nose' Adlington. This ensured we had won pretty much our entire stake for the weekend while most of the betting club members were still eating post-pissup kebabs. From then on though, it was a case of so close but yet so far. Blackburn's late, late winner at Goodison saw Scott's other bet go down, and Leeds' inability to find the net even once saw Tony's overs bet scuppered as Oldham won 2-0. Then, with three legs of Tone's acca home and hosed Newcastle decided that Sunday evening would be the first time in years they would bother defending and the Mancs couldnt do it for us.

So, the first loss of the season, but it's only pennies, and Chris and Evs have a chance to put all that right next week, when they both have £36.00 to spend. Their selections will appear here before we're all back out on Friday...

Can't believe that man whose name I can't pronounce ruined my day! Never been so gutted by an Everton defeat! At least the Adlington did the biz.

Sorry boys. Typical, the one time I need the mancs to do something and... I thought that my beloved Pool would trip us up and then felt we were home and dry after that. Further anguish, as I was tempted with backing Hoy for his 1st gold (at 2.0) instead of 3+ goals, but thought it a greater risk. DOH!!!

PS - Tim, get my predictions updated!
