Disaster strikes!

It was bound to happen sometime, but a series of mixups led to us missing out on a bumper win this week. Not realising it was his turn, after the order shuffle we've had, Bob didnt send me his bets til the Saturday morning, and I received them just as I was going out swimming with Connor. So, resolving to put them on when I got back in, I half-read the text. Normally that wouldnt be a problem, but I got a late call up to play football, and by the time I got back home the final whistles were blowing all around the country. It wasnt just that I hadnt had time to put them on, I had completely forgotten about the bets. When Bob rang me, sounding pretty excited, it occurred to me that I might well have dropped an enormous bollock. Sure enough, it turns out that Bob had plumped for Sheff United to win at Bolton (£5 at 6.2ish) and Charlton/West Brom to end up a draw (£10 @ 3.5). Bob's other bet hadnt started yet, and I managed to get that on. Typically, that one was a lay of United at Villa.

So, even though I could have easily have picked a week when we found a blank, the one week I forget to put the bets on is the week where we have £65 or so of winners.

Bob has made some new choices, and I for one will be praying that they come in.

On the back of this, to avoid it happening again, it would really help me if we can always try and get the bets to me by the Friday night whenever possible. Also, when it's your turn, (or even if it isnt) its worth checking I have either put the bets up on the site, or sent a confirmation text of the bets by the time the first event starts. When this is done it means the bets are definitely placed. If there's any doubt it's always worth checking. Hopefully we can then avoid this sort of balls-up in the future. Anyway, apologies again and here's hoping for a couple of draws this afternoon.

Bob's bets
Aston Villa v Man United lay Man United @ 2.02 (liability of £14.28)
Stoke v Newcastle backing the draw £7.72 @ 3.45
Derby v Sheff Weds backing the draw £7.00 @ 3.6
